Today we honor the memory of nearly 3,000 individuals who lost their lives because of an act of terrorism. It's one of those eventful days in life that you'll always remember. I remember where I was, what I was doing, and being overwhelmed with shock when I heard the news, and realized this was not an accident.
Even today, I'm humbled as I think about the brave men and women that ran toward danger, trying to save lives. My heart is filled with gratitude for all the service men and women who hit pause on their civilian life to serve our country.

Often when something horrible happens, it brings out the good in many. So many acts of kindness, generosity and new charities were inspired by this monumental event. I've been thinking a lot about the families who lost loved ones because of 9/11.
